Songs of Togetherness (I) : Sound

Songs of Togetherness (I)
8mins soundscape looped, 2023.

Songs of Togetherness (I) invites the audience to listen and meditate on their relationship with nature in London. Created from a variety of field recordings, the work takes us on a sonic meditation in which human and more-than-human worlds collide in urban landscapes. Through spoken word, the artist alludes to the recordings' nature, immersing us in the audible ‘voices’ of plants, the earth's vibrations, and underwater sounds. All sounds originate from London, some closer to Gasworks, like Vauxhall Pier.

Songs of Togetherness (I) was commissioned for the exhibition Blue Space, as part of the MA Curating Contemporary Art Programme Graduates 2023, Royal College of Art and in partnership with Gasworks, London.
